Presentation of publication and vermouth

Installation, live experiment, presentation

June 21, 7pm:
Installation, live experiment, project presentation and publication

El mal alumne. Pedagogia crítica per a intel·ligències artificials studies the mechanisms of artificial sight and learning by means of neural nets. The research project aims to experiment in this field by using three basic strategies: producing alternative learning; evaluating the unexpected results produced by these tools (very often regarded as errors); and making these tools talk not about images but about themselves, revealing characteristics of their learning.

In this presentation you can see audiovisual results produced with image classfication networks, image recognition and image generation; some live experiments will be held and the research carried out by Estampa will be explained.

From June 21 till June 28:
Visitable interactive installation

Marco Noris
Friday, 15 June, 2018
Presentation and exhibition

On the Border: 280 km, 25 days, 198 border stones, 212 artworks
In the summer of 2017, Noris walked the 280 km of the Spanish-French border in the province of Girona, through which the principal routes of the Republican exile ran. During the walk, the artist painted a work corresponding to each of the 198 stones that mark the border. Walking and painting, joining together points along the border, as though balancing on that invisible line that divides in two that which is one, making visible what is invisible and, in this way, opening up a new stage for memory.

Presentation of project and publication

Venue: Piramidón (Concili de Trento, 313, planta 16)

To provide insights into the many facets of this research, the Piramidón art centre will host a display of some of the works deriving from it (drawings, portraits and poetic notes) and the presentation of the project publication, which features a number of Amazigh women’s songs and recipes.

Christina Schultz will be talking to Clara Garí and Carolina Jiménez about the life the artist shared with the Moroccan trabandadoras.* (*The name the women prefer to describe their work rather than the term porteadora [bearer], which they regard as offensive.)
