Visita comentada

Date: 13th of December
Hour: 5 pm
Place: Materfad

The 13th of December, Ariadna Parreu will be leading a guided tour of Materfad, the materials centre in Barcelona.

The only way to find out about the centre’s holdings is by joining the guided tours regularly run by members of the Materfad team. In keeping with this, Parreu will be offering a special visit based on the viewpoint and sensibility of her artistic interests in material. This will, then, be an atypical visit in which the artist will focus on the main aspects of her research.

Guided tour registrations: The tour is free but places must be booked in advance by emailing lacapella@bcn.cat or telephoning 932 562 044. The number of places is limited to 20 participants.

Seminar 'La Matèria com a Forma'
Project by Ariadna Parreu
1 and 2 December 2016
Venue: Materfad / Museu del Disseny DHUB, floor -1, Taller educativo A, aula 1

'La Matèria com a Forma' (Matter as Form), a research project by Ariadna Parreu, is one of the BCN Producció 2016 off-site projects. Parreu’s project has generated ongoing work dynamics at Materfad, the materials centre in the Disseny Hub Barcelona building, where she and a number of invited collaborators have explored the nature of material from positions as varied as sculpture, architecture, traditional crafts, language and sound.

Materfad Barcelona pursues research and keeps a watchful eye on technological developments in the field of new materials and offers consultancy and training services to companies, professionals, universities and technology centres. While following the centre’s established guidelines on publicising and identifying materials, Parreu engages in a new challenge, which is to analyse material from the dysfunctional and flexible perspective of the visual arts.

As the final part of this process, the project will be mounting debates and sessions at which the results will be presented, to be held at the Museu del Disseny, opposite the Materfad centre.

The seminar, which will be held from 4.00 to 7.30 pm on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 December, will include presentations and talks by all the people involved in the project.

Place: Llibreria Múltiplos (Joaquim Costa, 30 Barcelona 08001)
Date: 8th November at 7pm.

Within his prolific literary output, Alberto Cardín outlined a film script in 1976 that remains unpublished to this day. Cardín wrote the script when the first project for a political reform bill and the first democratic election of a president following the Franco dictatorship was occurring in Spain. Its activation and completion for the first time today again impacts national macropolitics right at a time when questions are being asked of the paradigm, or what is being called the “Second Transition”.
